![]() ![]() ![]() This screen resolution has approximately 3,686,400 more pixels than most screens in its class: double the amount. This resolution is suitable for multi-tasking and professional purposes. The more pixels in a display mean the sharper the image. The 2560×1440 aspect ratio is 16.9, which is the same as the 3440×1440 aspect ratio. You can enjoy better visual quality at high-refresh rates. This ratio works well for gaming and movies, and you will find it in many modern televisions and monitors. Pixel density or PPI is the number of pixels present per inch on a display screen. It shows the relationship between resolution and screen size. Man, I'm not gonna lie, as much as I love PC gaming, and it's broad capabilities, I do not miss all this stuff haha. The 2560 x 1440 gives better images due to its 3.7-megapixel resolution. The weird part is that G-sync seems to be working, despite the setting being there now. I even did a full, clean re-install of geforce drivers and the nvidia control panel, the options still haven't popped up. Now that I've been trying to figure out Crysis, the option to enable or disable g-sync is just gone from the control panel. Here's the annoying part, and I can't figure it out: the g-sync settings were in the control panel when I setup my computer and the monitors. When I turn on full-screen, game feels exactly like it's playing at 60Hz with some amount of tearing with v-sync off. When I plugged in the monitor, I enabled G-sync in the nvidia control panel, so when I have g-sync enabled on the monitor, and have Crysis in windowed mode with V-sync off in-game, the game is super smooth, no tearing, despite the game jumping around a range of frame rates (like 60-80). The weird thing is that, when in windowed mode, it seems like g-sync is working (with the monitor being set to 144Hz). When I alt-enter into full-screen, the screen goes back to 60Hz. Oddly enough, using the '-dx9' parameter didn't seem to work with Crysis (using Crysis Warhead 64-bit binaries), but seems to be working now on Crysis Warhead. Also make sure you've disabled V-Sync in the game and enabled it in your Nvidia Control Panel. playing in windowed mode, etc.Įdit: Playing win Windowed mode, while annoying, seems to be my best bet so far, tbh. If you've recently come across this issue with Crysis specifically, let me know what route you went to play through the game, e.g. If this is the incorrect forum/sub-forum, I do apologize, and welcome any move to a more appropriate forum. I'm posting this in monitors since this issue, while game dependent, seems to be an issue that can only be helped by making sure my screen is optimally using g-sync, which is obviously a monitor issue. This is something I'm especially curious about because my LG freesync monitor appears compatible, but not with all games. Is G-sync fairly finicky in terms of knowing when it's running? Like when it's clearly working, it looks great, but I'm wondering if there are ways to know if it's working or not. Should G-sync be working on my monitor sub-60fps, or would a g-sync, 144hz monitor tend to work in a different range, like, say, 60-144, or so? Would it ever make sense to enable v-sync in game, or enable/change some of the settings in the nvidia control panel? I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to g-sync, and generally it works great, but Crysis, being old and finicky, is kind of a weird case (for example, one of the newest games I have is Deliver Us the Moon, and it's easy to see when G-sync is running with said game). On my LG 27UL650-W, I believe it enables freesync between 40-60 fps, but in terms of g-sync, I am really unclear what this range is. I'm currently running a RyOC'd and a GTX 2060 with a slight OC (the OCs are just what the "ai" tuning stuff within the mobo and evga x1 precision thought made sense).Īpparently this 60hz issue is not uncommon in older titles, so I guess my question, for those with this monitor or something similar, what is the best course of action to get the game running the best, at least in terms of what g-sync is capable of. ![]() Maxed out at 1440p, the game likes to hang around 60-80 fps, until a ton of action happens, when it dips down into 45 or so at the minimum. I checked PC gaming wiki and the few solutions they prescribed didn't work, other than setting the game to windowed mode. I'm trying to run Crysis on my new Asus VG27AQ, but oddly enough, it always sets my monitor to 60Hz in full-screen mode. ![]()
